2023 National Weanling & Broodmare Sale | Ace Bloodstock Racing

Victorian-based syndicators Ace Bloodstock Racing have purchased under their own banner for the first time at Karaka. Fans of kiwi thoroughbreds, but prevented from travelling to New Zealand in the past due to covid restrictions, they have previously filled their stables with New Zealand talent with Phill Cataldo and Mick Price purchasing on their behalf.

2023 National Weanling & Broodmare Sale | Cam Heron

Cam & Eva Heron have a knack for producing a good Proisir, with Highline Thoroughbreds boasting Group One winners Legarto (NZ) (Proisir) and Dark Destroyer (NZ) (Proisir) on their honour roll. The Cambridge-based preparers sold two highlight Proisir lots at today’s National Weanling & Broodmare Sale, with Lot 67 knocked down to Kaha Nui Farm for $140,000 and Lot 89 selling to Polaris Bloodstock of Victoria for $90,000.

First-time buyer Jose Arriagada of Chimichurri Bloodstock secured Lot 153, a Hello Youmzain filly, for $25,000 at the National Weanling & Broodmare Sale.

2023 National Weanling & Broodmare Sale | Nick King

Brighthill Farm topped the National Weanling & Broodmare Sale as leading vendor by aggregate, selling nine lots for more than half a million dollars. Nick King was delighted with the results, including the sale-topping Per Incanto colt, Lot 144, that was knocked down for $150,000 to Sam Beatson of Riversley Park.

2023 National Weanling & Broodmare Sale | Brad Molander

A crucial member of the Wentwood Grange team, Brad Molander had a superb result today when his Embellish colt, Lot 94, sold for $27,500. Brad and good friend John Atkinson purchased the mare from Gavelhouse.com for just $600 and have her back in foal to Embellish.
