Go Racing’s Albert Bosma was thrilled with his purchase of Lot 363, a colt by Fastnet Rock out of More Than Ready mare More Jools. Bosma secured the colt for $325,000 from Cambridge Stud’s draft.

The second highlight of the day came when Laguna Partnership, Barry Lee Bloodstock and John Sargent Racing purchased Lot 616 for $625,000.

Olly Tuthill of Beaufort Downs was delighted after Lot 621 sold for $450,000 to the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The colt by Deep Field out of Via Veneto was the last of Beaufort Down’s offerings, resulting in a 100% clearance rate at Book 1 of Karaka 2023.

First-time vendor and ex Chief Rugby Player Nick White of Kaha Nui Farm achieved great success in Book 1 of Karaka 2023. Their Almanzor filly was purchased for $160,000 by Kingsclere Stables and their Capitalist filly was purchased by John Foote Bloodstock / Tony Gollan Racing for $200,000. White is looking forward to selling a further three lots in Book 2.

Victoria-based trainer Shane Nichols has been active at Karaka 2023 purchasing two lots. Lot 464 is a colt by So You Think out of Respin for $275,000 who the trainer bought out of Cambridge Stud’s draft.
