100 Pedigree Updates for Ready to Run Entries
11 November 2010
With almost 500 horses in next week's Ready to Run Sale, there was always going to be a lot of pedigree updates coming up to the sale, but the sheer amount and quality of the updates received is very good, and it's still growing.
Among the significant pedigree updates is Kilgraven Lodge's No Excuse Needed colt, Lot 139, as his dam Wahaha is a half-sister to Wall Street who has won the Group 1 Windsor Park Plate, the Group 1 Kit Ormond Memorial Spring Classic and the Group 1 VRC Emirates Stakes since the catalogue went to print. Also of note Ab O'Reilly (ex Wahaha) has won his maiden race in the Te Aroha JC Tony Brown and Associates Maiden Stakes.
Riverview Farm's colt at Lot 321 from Hoot n' Roller is now a full brother to the stakes winning filly Princess Emmy (Kings Chapel) who won the New Zealand Bloodstock Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes and ran second in the CJC Canterbury Racing Guineas Trial.
Lot 252, the gelding by Ad Valorem out of the Zabeel mare Demain, has a new Group 1 winner in the family through Erewhon (Commands). He is out of a half-sister to the colt's second dam, the Group 2 winning Crown Jester mare Manana, and he notched up his first Group 1 win in the Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick and a strong second in the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes.
The St. Petersburg gelding out of Blue Pacific (Lot 199) offered by Roseview looks to have another smart performer in the family with two-year-old Precise (Perfectly Ready) winning her debut race track appearance. Precise - currently seventh equal on the Karaka Million Order of Entry - is from the stakes winning mare Golden Butterfly (Paris Opera), a half-sister to Blue Pacific.
The pedigree of Kilgraven Lodge's gelding by Darci Brahma from Centaine mare Boito Belle (Lot 202) continues to strengthen with blue blood Light Brigade (Redoute's Choice), the A$1.4 million colt, notching up his second win and two places since the catalogue went to print. He is out of the Group 2 winning mare Winning Belle (Zabeel), a half-sister to Boito Belle. Talented Group 1 performer Our Ella Belle (Encosta de Lago), a half-sister to Boito Belle, has also notched up another race win and holds a nomination for the Group 2 Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes.
The Perfectly Ready gelding, Lot 258, from the Group 1 winning Woodborough mare Donna Rosita also welcomes another stakes winner to the family. Talented Australian three-year-old Ilovethiscity (Magic Albert) has gone on to win the Group 3 Newcastle JC Spring Stakes after his third in the Group 1 Golden Rose in Sydney. Ilovethiscity is from Kensington Rose, a half-sister to Nippoh Madonna, the dam of Donna Rosita.
Woodridge Farm has a strong draft in the Ready to Run Sale and their filly, Lot 323, by Danroad from Hurricane Ally sees another Group 3 winner join the family with She Rules (Commands) winning the Group 3 WRC Cuddle Stakes. She Rules is out of the Group 1 winner She's Country (Kenfair) a half-sister to Country Road, the dam of Hurricane Ally. Also, a half-brother to the filly, Uno (Align) has won his second race, a class four handicap in Singapore.
Another recent pedigree update from last night's racing in Hong Kong saw The Untouchablelad (Monolith) win his second race in the Class Three Chicago Handicap at Happy Valley. The Untouchablelad is out of the Lord Ballina mare Kilmaghenny, the dam of Sgp-2 STC Queen Elizabeth Cup winner Royal Admiral (Starjo). The Untouchablelad is a half brother to Lot 354, the gelding by Bachelor Duke from the Ardsley Stud draft.
