The most successful Breeze Up Sale worldwide in terms of the number of Group 1 winners over the past three seasons, Karaka's 2009 Ready to Run Sale will see a keen focus on quality.

The catalogue features 293 lots, 131 fewer than last year, with assembled two-year-olds representing Australasia's very best stallions from our strongest female families.

Buyers attending the one-day Sale in November will find running types to boot with New Zealand's leading vendors familiar with the demand buyers at this Sale place on well-educated athletes, and their skills and horsemanship ensure this.

Athletes the likes of Group 1 Sydney Cup winner Ista Kareem, Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap winner Mr Baritone, Group 1 TJ Smith Classic winner Rockdale, Group 1 Coolmore Classic and Queensland Oaks winner Eskimo Queen, Group 1 NZ 2000 Guineas winner Magic Cape, Group 1 Hong Kong Champions Mile winner Able One, and Group 1 Railway Handicap winner Donna Rosita were all offered at this Sale and have won at Group 1 level over the past three racing seasons across three different countries.

Just this weekend Karaka Ready to Run graduates The Embassy (Danasinga) and Six O'Clock News (Zabeel) will compete in the Group 1 AJC Metropolitan Handicap (2400m), while Mr Baritone (Stravinsky) takes on the Group 1 AJC Epsom Handicap (1600m) field.

A further eight Ready to Run graduates chase black-type victories this Saturday.

True to the Ready to Run ethos, 10% of graduates sold at last year's Sale have won races and 20% have either won or placed, remembering they are just spring three-year-olds.

These include the especially talented St Fevre (Dehere) who placed second in the Group 1 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes last season after winning on debut.

Last weekend's first and second place-getters in the Listed Bonecrusher Stakes, Jungle Juice (Jungle Pocket) and Military Move (Volksraad), are both graduates of the 2008 Karaka Ready to Run Sale, as is Listed Great Northern Foal Stakes winner Flying Fulton (Flying Spur).
