80 Unreserved Lots On Offer on Sunday

Waikato-based Twin Pines will offer 71 of their 79 lots for unreserved sale at New Zealand Bloodstock's Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale this Sunday (2 August).
With the addition of The Oaks Stud offering its entire draft on an unreserved basis, buyers attending Karaka on Sunday will be treated to 42% (80) of the 190 catalogued offered without reserves, a large incentive for buyers to bid with confidence.
The highlight of the broodmares to be offered unreserved is Forlorna (Nashwan). From the wonderful international family of Bosra Sham, Lammtara, and Hector Protector, Forlorna was trained by Sheila Laxon to win the Listed Bendigo Cup after placings in the Group 3 Rotorua Cup and Listed Matamata Cup.
Her first foal is stakes placed Abbey Way (Encosta De Lago), and she has a Stravinsky filly, and colts by Reset and Postponed, still to race for her. By leading international sire Nashwan, Forlorna was not served in 2008 and forms part of the Twin Pines draft at Lot 92.

Lot 1 - Lady Gesine 1997 (Grosvenor x Gesine, by Nassipour) - Twin Pines
��������� A three-quarter sister to Group 1 Sydney Cup winner Gallic (Zabeel), Lady Gesine is a grand-daughter of NZB Filly of the Year Solveig.
��������� She is already the dam of Listed Macau Derby and Listed Macau Gold Cup winner Farson (Postponed), and she is sold with a full sibling to the smart galloper in utero. LSD 28 September 2008.
Lot 7 Macarena 1994 (Kaapstad x Cobanna, by Star Way) - Twin Pines
��������� A half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Coco Cobanna, Macarena was a good performer herself, scoring victory three times and placing third in the Listed Tauranga Classic.
��������� Dam of three to race for three winners, Macarena is the dam of Richard and Chris Otto's Attackum (Pins), winner of four of nine starts this season including a stakes-placing at Gosford.
Lot 27 Paklani Princess 1994 (Last Tycoon x Paklani, by Haulpak) - Twin Pines
��������� Out of top Australian two-year-old Paklani, Paklani Princess is by premier broodmare sire Last Tycoon, and a half-sister to dual Group 1 producer Super Sheila.
��������� Paklani Princess is already the dam of two stakes horses including Listed winner True Valour. She is sold in foal to Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner Red Clubs. LSD 10 October 2008.
Lot 85 Dapper's Pride 1995 (Scenic - Bo Dapper, by Sir Dapper) - Twin Pines
��������� Dapper's Pride, by sire of the moment Scenic, is a half-sister to outstanding Group 1 racehorse and sire Testa Rossa.
��������� The dam of three winners to date including three-year-old Optimus (More Than Ready) this season, Dapper's Pride is sold in foal to leading young sire Postponed. LSD 11 October 2008.
Lot 98 Hayizah 1993 (Woodman x Lake Champlain, by King's Lake) - Twin Pines
��������� Out of Group 1 Irish One Thousand Guineas placed Lake Champlain, Hayizah is a half to two stakes winners.
��������� At stud she has left three winners including the highly regarded Six Star (Ekraar) who placed second in the Group 3 Wellington Stakes this season on track to the Group 1 Mercedes Derby. Hayizah is sold with a full sibling to Six Star in utero. LSD 15 November 2008.
Mares by Caerleon, Centaine, Danehill, Flying Spur, Kaapstad, Last Tycoon, Marscay, More Than Ready, O'Reilly, Royal Academy, Scenic, Star Way, Stravinsky, Tale of the Cat, Volksraad, Woodman, and Zedative will also go under the hammer unreserved.
Pin-hookers looking for a quick turn-over prospect into the Karaka 2010 National Yearling Sales Series will be pleased to see a selection of 26 yearlings from Twin Pines on offer at the Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale.
Full and half siblings to stakes horses Farson, Kaapeon, True Valour, Ali Spur, Abbey Way, Six Star, and Number One will all go under the hammer unreserved along with a half brother to stakes-placed Attackum at Lot 118.
