All Eyes To The Soliloquy For Fourth Race Of Fillies Series

25 November 2004

Saturday's Listed Goldstar Soliloquy Stakes (1400m) at Ellerslie, the fourth race in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series, is set to be an interesting contest. The race has drawn a 12 horse field, with what appears to be an evenly matched line-up, making for an exciting race.

The Soliloquy field includes La Sizeranne (Stravinsky x Tricia Ann) who currently lies second in the points tablewith 10 points. A win in the race would secure four points and put the filly only four points behind the series leader Justa Tad (Istidaad x Infinity), who will miss the Soliloquy in favour of tomorrow'sLevin Classic.

Trainers Lance O'Sullivan and the Rogerson & Autridge team each have two runners inSaturday'sfield. O'Sullivan has smart Group 1 winning filly Iflooxcouldkill (Daggers Drawn x Hear's Hoping) and the well-bred race winner Taat Lass (Faltaat x Kaimoto Lass).

The Rogerson team have the Cape Cross duo Class Act (Cape Cross x Wiki Wiki), a smart filly who has won two of her three starts, and Florilegium (Cape Cross x Gardenia) who won last year's Listed Cullen Stakes and ran second in the Group 3 Westbury Stud Eclipse Stakes.Florilegium's full brother topped NZB's Ready to Run Sale last week at $270,000.

Other runners with recent form include Senorita Ivory (Senor Pete x Ivory), Goldsinga (Danasinga x Donna's Gold), Tight Genes (Danske x Elabama Star), Spin 'N Grin (Spinning World x Smile) and Volk Dancer (Volksraad x Kape Dancer).

The Series points available in The Soliloquy are 1st - 4 points, 2nd - 2 points & 3rd - 1 point.
