Anabaa's Legacy Goes Back to Back
20 October 2010
Today's Geelong meeting has seen another Ready to Run graduate salute the judge with Anabaa's Legacy thrashing her rivals in the $20,000 Lamby's Restaurant & Bar Class 1 Handicap (1203m).
Jumping well from the barriers, Anabaa's Legacy (Anabaa x Sea Song) showed a clear intent to lead with jockey Remi Tremsal taking her straight to the front. Unchallenged throughout the run, Anabaa's Legacy hit the top of the straight a length in front. At the furlong pole she was out by two lengths but with a strong kick for good measure she was eased down to the line to win by an easy four-and-a-half lengths.
Coming off a last start four-length win, the Dean Binaisse trained Anabaa's Legacy was making his third race day appearance today, with the victory taking her winning tally to two.
Bought by Dean Binaisse from New Zealand Bloodstock's 2009 Ready to Run Sale for $100,000, the daughter of Anabaa was pinhooked from the Karaka Premier Sale and offered by George and Maryanne Simon's Mana Park.
Mana Park has a considerable representation with 20 two-year-olds entered this year, the largest draft of its six-year participation at this Sale. Amongst them are a half-brother to Group 1 winner Rockdale (Lot 36) and a Fast n Famous colt out of a half-sister to Group 1 winner Allez Wonder (Lot 318).
Anabaa's Legacy is out of the Fasliyev mare Sea Song, a half-sister to the Dual Group 1 winner Ball Park and Tears for Tristram, the dam of Group 2 winner Danabaa. His third dam Segal is the dam of the stakes winning mare Slater, the dam of Group 2 winner Deposition and stakes winner Accuse.
