Breeze Up Footage Now Available to View Online

The highly anticipated Breeze Up videos for NZB’s 2025 Ready to Run Sale are now available to view online at nzb.co.nz.

On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 October, over 380 talented juveniles galloped down the home straight of Te Rapa Racecourse, with all two-year-olds having the last 200 metres of their work individually timed.

The first day of Breeze Ups (Monday) saw 184 two-year-olds gallop with an average time of 10.88 recorded. A brief shower was experienced early on Day One, but fine weather followed with wind gusts increasing in the evening up to 5.9 m/s (21.2 km/h). The track was a SOFT 6 throughout.

The second day of Breeze Ups (Tuesday) saw 202 two-year-olds gallop with an average time of 10.93 recorded. Day Two conditions were mostly windy, with gusts of up to 7.4 m/s (26.7 km/h). The track was a SOFT 5 throughout.

The overall average time across the two days combined is 10.91.

All videos and times are now viewable on NZB’s website alongside weather conditions of the day, the wind speed (meters per second) and wind direction for each lot. For more information on the wind anemometer recordings, view our guide here. 

NZB’s Breeze Up clips cover footage from near the 500-metre mark to capture horses before they fully extend into their gallop.

Each video is recorded in high definition, the quality will automatically scale based on your internet connection and device. They can be downloaded by clicking the 'Share' icon in the top right corner, following the Vimeo link and selecting the size video you'd like to download.

Breeze Ups will also be broadcast lot-by-lot on Trackside in New Zealand with scheduling to be announced, and on Racing.com in Australia on Monday 27 October from 6am - 9.30am.

This year’s Ready to Run Sale will see a quality line up of 480 catalogued two-year-olds go under the hammer from 10am on 12 and 13 November at the Karaka Sales Centre.
