Bumper Weekend for NZB Grads in Hong Kong

With NZ breds dominating the 10 race card at Sha Tin on Sunday, NZB sale graduates were six of the winners on the night.�

  • Fifty Fifty (O'Reilly-Second Set) notched up his fifth win of his career in the last race on the card, the HK$1 million HKJC Tung Chung H. He was sold by Delahunty Farm at the 2002 NZB Select Colts Sale for $55000 and is trained in Hong Kong by Caspar Fownes.
  • Oscar Star (O'Reilly-Curragh Lass) added to O'Reilly's record of success in Hong Kong, and John Size's three wins of the night, with a win in the Class 3 HKJC Tourism Cup H 1600m. Oscar Star - formerly named Glazier - was sold by Kibblewhite Lodge at the 2001 Select Colts Sale for $65000.
  • Brown Beauty (Shinko King-Jeanne d'Arc) recorded a win over 2000m in the HKJC Lai King H. earning HK$324900. He was sold by Mount William Downs at the 2001 Festival Sale for $9500.
  • Shogun (Langfuhr-Seersha) was sold by Lyndhurst Farm at the 2001 Ready To Run Sale for $52500. Trained by John Size, Shogun beat Select Sale graduate, Brave Knight (Turbulent Dancer-Ricel Bid) to record his third win in the 1200m HKJC Ma Wan H.
  • Pearl of India (Sandtrap-Decisive Time), another member of the John Size stable, posted his first win from 3 starts. He was sold by Java Lodge at the 2002 Festival Sale for $25000.
  • Handbag Premier (Zabeel-Love de Tor) was a Premier Sale graduate from Cambridge Stud in 2002 sold for $200,000. The third winner for Paul O'Sullivan in Hong Kong, this was Handbag Premier's first win.
