City On A Hill's First HK Winner
20 June 2005
New Zealand Bloodstock graduates continued to notch up the wins with another pleasing weekend at Sha Tin including a first Hong Kong winner for New Zealand resident sire, City On A Hill.
All's Well (City On A Hill x Alot Of Music) won the Woodpecker Plate (1200m) ahead of fellow Griffins, Pocket Money (Namid x Duck Over) and Broad Spectrum (Spectrum x La Guichet) recording the first win for City On A Hill (Rahy) in Hong Kong. City On A Hill, himself a group and stakes winning two year old, has his first southern hemisphere crop racing in New Zealand this season, his most promising result to date coming from the listed placegetter, Lapaz (City On A Hill x Three Vibes).
All's Well, ridden by Shane Dye and trained by Danny Shum, has now recorded a first and second from his two starts, adding to the success that this season's New Zealand bred Griffins have shown. All's Well sold through the Karaka auction ring as a weanling and then again at the 2004 Ready to Run Sale for $40,000 to Tommy Cheung.
