Enter Now for KARAKA 2007!

10 July 2006

With recent boom yearling sales results still fresh in our minds, it's hard to believe it's already time to enter for the 2007 National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka.

NZB has been in planning mode for many weeks already, with countrywide discussions with industry participants prompting some exciting changes to Karaka 2007.

The highlight for buyers and vendors alike is the introduction of a new one million dollar race for all graduates of the 2007 National Yearling Sales Series.

The 'Karaka Million' - set for a Twilight Meeting at Auckland Racing Club's Ellerslie racetrack in January 2008 - not only offers buyers an exciting opportunity to target their Karaka purchases at a one million dollar prize pool, but the vendor of every starter will also get a slice of the pie.

Other key changes to the forthcoming Sales Series include:

  • A two-day Premier Sale on 29 & 30 January 2007, starting at 11am each day;
  • A 2 & 1/2 day Select Sale on 31 Jan - 2 Feb 2007, with a 3pm starting time on the first day to permit an easier transition of horses on and off the complex;
  • A one-day Festival Sale on 4 February 2007;
  • The addition of a one-day 'Carnival Sale' on 9 March 2007;
  • PLUS a $100,000 incentive race for all graduates of the Carnival Sale, in 2008.

The revitalisation of our industry has already begun. With sweeping tax changes inspiring renewed confidence by breeders and investors; a worldwide respect for the quality of our bloodstock ensuring demand is as high as ever; and the added attraction of the most hospitable Sales Series in the world, Karaka will be the place to come in 2007.

It's full steam ahead at New Zealand Bloodstock to ensure Karaka 2007 is one not to be missed. Make sure you're part of the action and enter your horses today!
