Good Season Start for NZB Graduates

20 August 2005

New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale graduate, Jadescent (Green Perfume x China Girl) could be one to watch over the coming season after producing her third win from four career starts on Saturday. In the Listed William Crockett Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley, the three year old filly came in 1 lengths ahead of Testa Reale (Testa Rossa x Red Royalty) and Freestyle (Snippets x Stella Artois).

Bred by Chequers Stud and sold at the 2004 Select Yearling Sale to Brian Jenkins for $34,000 Jadescent was then sold at the Ready to Run Sale for $55,000 to her current Victorian trainer, Lee Hope. In addition to her two wins at two, Jadescent also placed second in the Group 3 VRC TBV Thoroughbred Bloodhorse Breeder's Stakes (1200m) behind the Redoute's Choice filly, Leveller (Redoute's Choice x Startling Miss).

This win follows success by Don't Ya Lovett (Lord Ballina x Sea Huntress) in the Group 3 Aussie Browne's Pharmacy 108th Winter Cup (1600m) at Riccarton Park last week - the first of the season for NZB sales graduates.

New Zealand Bloodstock's 2005 Ready to Run Sale will be held at Karaka on the 15th and 16th November, and Breeze Ups are scheduled for the 10th and 11th October at Te Rapa Racecourse.
