Half-Brother to Silent Achiever at NZB Ready to Run Sale
29 October 2012
The upcoming NZB Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs received another significant pedigree update on the weekend with Silent Achiever (NZ) (O’Reilly x Winning Spree, by Zabeel) winning the A$220,000 Group 2 Crystal Mile (1600m).
Silent Achiever was crowned New Zealand’s Champion 3YO last season with five wins last season headlined by her victory in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby.
She will be represented by a half-brother by Sakhee’s Secret at Lot 399 in the Ready to Run Sale on 20 & 21 November at Karaka.
Trained by Roger James, Silent Achiever resumed with a fourth placing at Te Rapa earlier this month and was taken straight to Australia off the back of that performance.
In a distance considered well short of her best by her trainer, Silent Achiever claimed her first Australian victory in Saturday’s Group 2. Settling last in the seven-horse field with jockey James McDonald in the saddle, the four-year-old was five wide on the turn and raced clear in the final 100 metres to win by a comfortable three-quarters-of-a-length.
New Zealand horses secured a trifecta in the race with Karaka graduates Rangirangdoo (Pentire) and Solzhenitsyn (St. Petersburg) running into second and third place.
