It was a top night for kiwi bred horses in Hong Kong last night with wins in 5 of the 10 race card.

Stealing the show was Cheerful Fortune (Kashani x Crystal Jet) who took out the final race of the evening the Chuk Yuen Handicap (Class 2, HK$1,000,000, 1200m) in fine style finishing 2 lengths clear of the rest of the field.

Trained by Andy Leung, Cheerful Fortune is a graduate of New Zealand Bloodstock's 2001 Select Colts Sale where he was purchased for $38,000 by Grand Harvest Stud. He was sold through the draft of Highview Stud.

Also taking home a Class 2 win was another kiwi bred runner, Lucky Owners (Danehill x Miss Priority). The three year old was 1 lengths clear when he crossed the line in the Lok Fu Handicap (HK$1,000,000, 1600m). The three year old is trained by Tony Cruz.

Keeping up the NZ winning streak was Sean Woods trained, Tamar (Volksraad x Startune) who won race 9 on the card the Ping Shek Handicap (HK$700,000, 1600m) a short head over another NZ bred runner, Wealthy Treasure (Felix the Cat x A Little Fun).

Race 7 was also claimed by a kiwi with Great Commander (Jetball x Tisolde) taking home the win in the Shek Kip Mei Handicap (HK$570,000, 1200m). The three year old is trained by Mr Ivan Allan and won the race by length.

Earlier in the evening Woodborough 4YO, Green Vacation (out of Hope Chest) scored in the So UK Handicap (HK$570,000, 1400m) ahead of fellow kiwi Magnificent (Centaine x Strone).

Trained by Sean Woods, Green Vacation is a graduate of the 2000 Festival Select Sale where he was purchased by Mr Bruce Marsh of Manawatu for $24,000.
