Hot Sires At Sunday's Stallion Expo

The 2003 Stallion Expo has attracted some top stallions which will be paraded at New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka Sales Centre this Sunday.

The Expo has a history of attracting a great crowd and this year they will be treated to viewing national and international sires of the highest caliber.

Some of the exciting sires attending this year's Expo include

Don Eduardo (Zabeel x Diamond Lover)
Australasia's highest priced yearling who sold for $3.6million at New Zealand Bloodstock's 2000 Premier Yearling Sale. Don Eduardo went on the win the Gr.1 Australian Derby for his owner Mr Eduardo Cojuangco and has his first season at stud this year at Fayette Park Stud in the Waikato.
Don Eduardo's service fee is $12,500 + GST and free return

Keeper (Danehill x Nuwirah)
Keeper had his first season at Cambridge Stud in 2002. The winner of seven races including the Gr.1 SAJC Goodwood Handicap, Keeper is by Champion sire Danehill and his dam is by Kentucky Derby winner Pleasant Colony.
Keeper's service fee is $10,000 + GST

Magic Ring (Green Desert x Emaline)
The stallion with a fantastic strike rate of 70% winners to starters in Australasia made his return to the Southern Hemisphere last season after two years at stud in England, to stand at Auckland's Haunui Farm. His yearlings have sold up to $250,000 at various sales around the world including a gelding that sold for $120,000 at the 2000 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale.

No Excuse Needed (Machiavellian x Nawaiet)
The dual Gr.2 winning son of Machiavellian has his first season at Waikato Stud in 2003. The highly rated English miler was the winner of the Gr.2 Goodwood Celebration Mile and the Gr.2 Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes, and he finished second to champion miler Noverre in the Gr.1 Sussex Stakes.

Pyrus (Mr Prospector x Most Precious)
The stakes winning son of Mr Prospector has his first season at Auckland's Westbury Stud in 2003. An impressive performer, Pyrus had his racing career cut short due to injury as a three year old. Of his 12 starts he had 4 wins including the Gr.3 Aqueduct Fort Marcy Handicap. Pyrus is a half brother to dual Gr.1 winner Matiara and Gr.2 winner Marathon.

Riviera (Kris x Manureva)
The Gr.1 winning son of champion sire Kris, Riviera joins Fairdale Stud in Longburn for his first season at stud in 2003. The winner of over US$1million, Riviera had 21 starts for 10 wins, 4 seconds and 3 thirds racing in both France and the United States. His wins include the Gr.1 Woodbine Atto Mile Stakes, Gr.2 Firecracker Breeders Cup Handicap and the Gr.3 Santa Anita Morvich Handicap.
Riviera's service fee is $5,000 + GST and live foal guarantee

Rossini (Miswaki x Touch Of Greatness)
From his 7 starts Rossini, the son of Miswaki (Mr Prospector) was only unplaced once. Rossini won the Gr.2 Prix Robert Papin and the Gr.3 Anglesey Stakes and has an international classification of 118, just 2 short of champions Giant's Causeway and Distant Music. He enters his second season at stud in the Southern Hemisphere in 2003 where he stands at Auckland's Glenmorgan Farm.

Sudurka (Perugino x My Sparkling Star)
A dual Gr.1 winner, Sudurka spent his first season at Waikato Stud in Matamata in 2002. Sudurka is the winner of 8 races up to 1400m including the Gr.1 MRC Oakleigh Plate, Gr.1 VRC Salinger Stakes, Gr.3 JRA Autumn Stakes and the Gr.3 SAJC Honda Stakes.

Ustinov (Seeking The Gold x Let's Elope)
The son of Gr.1 Melbourne Cup winner Let's Elope, Ustinov will have his first season at stud in 2003 at Brighthill Farm in Hamilton. Ustinov won the Gr.2 MVRC AAMI Vase, was second to champion racehor
