Interest High For Sunday's Spring Bloodstock Sale

New Zealand Bloodstock reports an encouraging level of interest from local and overseas buyers heading into the Spring Bloodstock Sale and the Supplementary Catalogue Sale to be conducted at Karaka on Sunday.

This year's Spring Sale has received a major boost thanks to the inclusion of two unreserved dispersal sales.

Unreserved Dispersal � Golden Horseshoe Syndicate
The first unreserved dispersal comes from the sale of a band of mares belonging to an Australian based group including The Golden Horseshoe Syndicate. These 27 quality broodmares will be offered through Westbury Stud as Agent.

This consignment includes mares by such world class sires as NUREYEV, AFFIRMED, SHIRLEY HEIGHTS, VOLKSRAAD, FAIRY KING, DAYJUR and CHIEF'S CROWN to name a few

They boast such exciting covering sires such as ZABEEL, GENEROUS and ELNADIM.

McHardie Bloodstock Unreserved Dispersal
The second unreserved dispersal sale which is featured in the Supplementary Catalogue comes from Bob McHardie Bloodstock and has been precipitated by the ill health of Mr McHardie. This offering includes 10 broodmares, 4 yearlings, 4 Two Year Olds, 5 untried horses and 1 racehorse.

The broodmares on offer are by sires such as GROSVENOR, STYLISH CENTURY, HONOR GRADES, ROMAN EMPIRE and NASSIPOUR.

These mares are carrying services to such sires as CHIEF BEARHART, ANZIYAN, TRADITIONALLY, ROSSINI and SHINKO KING.

Also by highly regarded sires are both the yearling and the two year old in this dispersal:

LOT 179 BAY YEARLING FILLY by Carnegie x Roman Express by Roman Empire.
The dam has had two winning foals, Stylish Cent and Lymington Castle. From the same family as Gr2 winning REIVER and Gr 3 winner IL COMANDANTE.


LOT 183 BAY 2YO COLT by Stravinsky x Santanea by Imperial March.
By one of the most exciting young sires in the world at present, out of a Gr2 winning dam, this colt is a Half brother to the Gr2 BOPRC Japan � NZ International Stakes winner REIVER. This 2yo Stravinsky colt is offered unbroken.
