Two-year-old colt Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock) extended his unbeaten career record to two out of two with a strong victory in the Listed Reid & Harrison (1980) Limited Slipper at Matamata on Saturday.

A son of the Nassipour mare Myrrh, Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock) is a half-brother to Australian Group 1 winner Triple Honour. He was purchased by Te Akau Racing principal David Ellis for $400,000 from the draft of Curraghmore at the 2015 Premier Sale. Clearly impressed with his purchase, Ellis returned to Karaka in 2016 and bought the younger full-brother for $510,000.

Heroic Valour is owned by the Te Akau 2015 Breeding Syndicate and is trained by Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards.

“Jamie and I are lucky to have horses like this to train,” Autridge said. "David buys all these really good horses and they make us look good. This horse has a lot of improvement in him and could be anything. He’s got plenty of ability.”
