Both Racing Tauranga and Manawatu JC feature $10,000 Mercedes Super Bonus races on Saturday.

Race 2 at Manawatu JC, the Black Minnaloushe 2YO Handicap over 1200m will be the first event of the day with a bonus attached. On Guard (NZ) (Daggers Drawn x Capriccio), who won his last start earlier this month at Wellington RC, is the only eligible horse in the race. The colt was purchased by current trainers Peter & Nikki Hurdle from Curraghmore Stud for $28,000 at the Select Colts Sale.

Fifteen minutes later at Racing Tauranga's meeting the Seeka Kiwifruit Industries 2YO 1300m gives two horses the opportunity to pick up a bonus.

Johnny Knoxville (NZ) (Dream Well x Kirkberg), a Moroney / Scott representative is having his second start after running third in his debut at Ellerslie. Paul Moroney purchased the gelding as a yearling at the Select Sale for $42,000 from Wellfield Thoroughbreds.

Doc Holliday (NZ) (Marju x Santa Evita) is another smart colt who won fresh-up in his last start at Wanganui. It is the colts second campaign as a two-year-old after he had two starts in December of last year. He was purchased from the Premier Sale by current trainers Evan and JJ Rayner from Trelawney Stud for $32,500.
