New NZB Bloodstock Sales Manager Based in Waikato
23 December 2013
New Zealand Bloodstock has announced the appointment of Danny Rolston to the position of Bloodstock Sales Manager, based in the Waikato.
Danny has been a long-serving member of New Zealand Bloodstock, approaching ten years with the company. He spent his first three years working in NZB’s Insurance department, before moving to the Bloodstock team seven years ago in the role of Sales Representative, with the areas under his supervision slowly expanding over that time.

NZB Co-Managing Director Andrew Seabrook says the promotion is well-deserved and dovetailed well with a move to the Waikato.
“Danny has made a huge contribution to the Bloodstock team and it was a natural progression that he should take on more responsibility. With the majority of our clients based in the Waikato we have been keen to have someone based there again, and it is ideal that he should start his new role there.”
With NZB’s Mike Kneebone transferring from Cambridge with his family to the company’s Singapore office five years ago, and auctioneer Clint Donovan returning from Cambridge to Queensland last year, NZB was keen to renew its presence in the thoroughbred heartland.
The Waikato region has the greatest number of broodmares in New Zealand with around 35% based there, along with 45% of New Zealand’s annual foal crop and 65% of registered stallions. The Waikato is also home to the two largest training centres in New Zealand (Cambridge & Matamata).
“It's a big move for me and my family but a great opportunity which I am very grateful for. I'm thoroughly looking forward to 2014 and the new challenges that come with it,” commented Danny.
Danny has spent his entire life working in the racing and breeding industry including extended stints in the United Kingdom, Dubai, USA and Hong Kong. Currently Danny also runs an agistment property and is a thoroughbred owner/breeder in his own right.
Danny, his wife Sharon, and their two boys Jake and Adam, are preparing to move to the Waikato sometime in the New Year.
