NZB Ready to Run Sale Starts Tomorrow!
18 November 2014
From Wednesday at 11am, the first of almost 400 two-year-olds will go under the hammer at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs.
With 34 years of experience, NZB’s Ready to Run Sale has forged a reputation for producing genuine racehorses that perform at the highest level right around the world, and has garnered a strong international following.
Australian Hall of Fame trainer Gai Waterhouse is amongst those to recognise the opportunity this Sale presents buyers.
“New Zealand is the place I look to source the 'classic 3yo', the horse to win Guineas', Oaks' and Derbies' with,” commented Waterhouse.
“The Ready to Run Sale is becoming more and more important. The specialised vendors take horses through to the next stage of education and development, and we have more information to base our buying decision on and less risk. Our owners win, we win.”
The NZB Ready to Run Sale is celebrating a string of stellar results including:
- 10 Group 1 winners in the past three seasons – the only Sale of its kind in Australasia to produce a Group 1 winner in that period.
- Back-to-back winners of the Group 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas (Atlante & Turn Me Loose).
- 115 stakes wins in the past six seasons – the most of any comparable Sale.
- Double the number of stakes winners in the past three seasons of any two-year-old auction in Australasia.
- Stakes winners in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong last season.
- Four Group 1 winners last season in Albany Reunion, Atlante, Glorious Days, Nashville and Singapore Group 1 winner Super Ninetyseven.
This year’s Ready to Run Sale has attracted a catalogue of 396 two-year-olds, featuring:
- 115 of the best sires from New Zealand and Australia.
- 13 first season sires.
- Siblings to Group 1 winners Alinghi, Serenade Rose, Bel Sprinter, Titch, Guiseppina & Tully Tunder.
