NZB South Island Session Entries Close Today

10 February 2014

Entries for the South Island Session of New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sales Series close today (10 February).

To be held at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch on Sunday 13 April, this year is the first time the South Island Sale will form part of the National Yearling Sales Series, moving from its traditional format of a sale of untried two-year-olds in August.

Becoming part of the National Yearling Sales Series allows yearlings sold at the Sale to be entered in the lucrative Karaka Million Race Series. Horses sold and nominated at the South Island Session will be eligible to compete for the $1m Karaka Million – New Zealand’s richest race – in 2015, the $250,000 Karaka 3YO Mile in 2016 and the $100,000 Karaka Stayers Cup for the rest of their racing careers.

Entries are also welcome for two-year-olds, raced & unraced stock, broodmares, and stallion shares.

South Island Sale entry forms can be downloaded from the NZB website:
