NZB Southern Filly of the Year Series Resumes at Wingatui
4 March 2016
The New Zealand Bloodstock Southern Filly of the Year Series resumes on Saturday with its second leg, the Listed NZB Airfreight Stakes at Wingatui.
More than five months have passed since the first leg of the Series, the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes in mid-September, and a lot has changed in that time. Just one filly from that race will line up on Saturday - the northern visitor Princess Davone (NZ) (Iffraaj), who picked up 1 point when finishing third.
Other runners in the $50,000 contest include the last-start Southland Guineas winner Replique (NZ) (Darci Brahma) and the black-type placegetter Alyth (NZ) (Librettist).
The winner of Saturday’s race will receive 7 Series points, with 3 points for second and 1 for third.
