Opportunity Aplenty in National Online Yearling Sale

On-farm parades are underway around New Zealand ahead of the 2026 National Online Yearling Sale, as prospective buyers are looking for their next pinhook or racetrack star.

The quality 104-lot catalogue is now live on Gavelhouse Plus and available to view here.

Renowned vendors from across New Zealand are supporting the Sale, with a contingent of 48 proven, emerging, and first-season sires progeny offered. Buyers can secure yearlings by the likes of Ace High, Alabama Express, Per Incanto, Proisir, Satono Aladdin, So You Think and Tassort, plus emerging and first-season sires Ardrossan, Armory, Circus Maximus, Noverre, Profondo and Sword of State to name a few.  

While the Sale is renowned for end-user success, the depth of pedigree pages offers further pinhooking, and future broodmare opportunities.

Here are just a few notable lots featured in the 2026 catalogue:

  • Lot 21, a filly by Ace High out of Shaheen who hails from blueblood producer Sheila Cheval. Offered by Rich Hill Stud.

  • Curraghmore offer Lot 29, a daughter of Satono Aladdin from race winning Savabeel mare Tabata. 
  • Lot 34, on account of Highden Park is a colt by Zousain that is rich in a deep staying European pedigree.
  • Cambridge Stud will offer a half-brother to Group Two winner Immediacy in Lot 48, a colt by Embellish out of But Beautiful.
  • Following Invincible Ibis’ Derby domination in Hong Kong recently, Lot 69 will be on a few buyers lists. The daughter of Hellbent from Hi Hi Hi will be offered by Henley Park.
  • Lot 78, offered on account of S. Luke in Canterbury is another daughter by Satono Aladdin out of Inthespotlight , making her a full sister to Group One performer Japanese Emperor.
  • Lot 87, an Ocean Park filly out of Laced Up is a three-quarter sister to recent NZB Filly of the Year and Group One winner Ohope Wins, and half-sister to Fancify.

  • Rich Hill Stud will also offer Lot 96, a daughter of Proisir out of race-winning mare Miss Labasa, who is related to Group One winner Skew Wiff.
  • Averaging over $260,000 at Karaka 2026’s Book 1 Sale, Sword of State has become hot property across Australasia, and Lot 99 offers a chance to secure progeny by the emerging sire. South Island vendors Beaufort Downs are offering a daughter from race winning and producing Iffraaj mare, Mistaar.  

A significant benefit of the digital catalogue is that all lots offered in the National Online Yearling Sale are eligible to be nominated for the lucrative Karaka Millions Series. Just nine short months after they make their virtual sale-ring debut, graduates of the online sale can compete for a share in the 2027 $1m TAB Karaka Millions 2YO (1200m), followed by the 2028 $1.5m TAB Karaka Millions 3YO (1600m), as well as the NZB Mega Maiden Bonus Series.

As a one-off, NZTBA have offered to extend the early bird offer for entries to the Entain-NZB Insurance Pearl Series for all fillies offered in the upcoming National Online Yearling Sale held on Gavelhouse Plus. With bidding closing from 6pm on Tuesday 14 April, buyers will have until 5pm (NZT) Friday 17 April to secure entry at the discounted rate of $1,000 +GST - a saving of $500 +GST. 

Bidding will run for a five-day period, commencing Friday 10 April with the first lot closing on Tuesday 14 April at 6pm (NZT). Buyers must register on Gavelhouse Plus in advance in order to gain bidding approval.
