Pronto Pronto’s Speedy Stakes Success

8 October 2012

The Jason Warren-trained Karaka graduate Pronto Pronto picked up his first stakes win at Flemington on Saturday with a tough front-running display in the A$120,000 Listed Yellowglen Vintage Stakes (1410m).

His fourth start this preparation, Pronto Pronto (Snitzel x Teresa) took the front immediately after jumping from the barriers and was never headed in the hands of jockey Ben Melham as he kept finding in the straight, holding off his rivals to win by a classy half a length.

The win was Pronto Pronto’s second from seven starts. His first victory came at his second appearance last season as a two-year-old at Sandown where he beat the promising kiwi bred O’Reilly colt Shamexpress.

Bred by NSW-based breeder Carl Holt, Pronto Pronto was purchased by Jason Warren Racing from Rich Hill Stud at New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2011 Karaka Premier Sale for $160,000.

Raced by Jason’s wife Yasmin Warren with Mr M Hanson, Mr K Cook, S Benson Racing, Mr A Calderone, Mr J Sutcliffe, Mrs N Foran, Mr C Clements, Mr A Roberts and Bloodstock Resources, Pronto Pronto has now won over A$150,000 in stakes.

Pronto Pronto is the 10th stakes winner for his sire Snitzel who currently boasts a winners to runners ratio of over 70%.
