Series Leaders Face Off In Robertson Holden Eulogy Stakes
8 December 2004
The top three fillies on the Filly of the Year Series table will battle it out in the Group 3 Robertson Holden Eulogy Stakes this Saturday at Manawatu Racing Club. The 1600 metre race is worth $50,000 and has drawn a twelve horse field.
Current series leader Justa Tad (Istidaad x Infinity) will start following a hugely unlucky run in the Levin Classic last month. The filly has already won two races in the series including the New Zealand Bloodstock 1000 Guineas.
La Sizeranne (Stravinsky x Tricia Ann) who currently lies second in the points table has drawn barrier eight in the race after winning the last race in the Series, the Goldstar Soliloquy Stakes. The Roger James trained filly picked up four points with the win and put herself within four points of the series leader.
Third on the table is Eloa (Volksraad x Cent From Heaven) who won the first race of the series, the Highview Stakes. The Moroney-Scott trained filly has drawn barrier seven but lies eight points behind the two breakaway fillies.
Also in the race is Class Act (Cape Cross x Wiki Wiki), Florilegium (Cape Cross x Gardenia), Prickle (Pins x Snobbish), Cape Rose (Cape Cross x Zeddour), Volkdancer (Volksraad x Kape Dancer ), Zedcar (Zeditave x Cairnryan ), Belle of Marju (Marju x Centri Belle), Prize Lady (Prized x Pen Bal Lady) and Rhysess (Pins x Sahrhys).
