18 September 2006

New Zealand Bloodstock sale graduates had yet another successful weekend in Singapore, taking out five races on Friday night and then backing up with three wins on Sunday's card.

Player's (Haayil x Our Catarina) and World Delight (Mellifont x Lady Anne) won both feature races at Kranji Racecourse on Friday night. Player's, the winner of the Kranji Stakes C 1600m S$75,000, was a NZ$35,000 purchase by Stuart Hale at the 2001 Karaka Festival Sale, from the draft of Hallmark Stud. The seven-year-old gelding is trained by New Zealander, Bruce Marsh.

World Delight won the other S$75,000 race, the Class 3 over 1400m. The lightly raced four-year-old gelding now has four wins from eleven starts and was a NZ$18,000 purchase by Dean Wiles at the 2004 KarakaFestival Yearling Sale from the draft of Paramount Lodge. Two progeny by Mellifont are entered in the Ready to Run Sale of Two-year-olds on November 21 and 22.

Other graduates to win on the night were Powerful Flyhorse (Volksraad x Never Bluffs), (who raced as Parliament in NZ), Command N Control (Ascot Knight x Sparkling Castle) (who raced in Australia as Magical Rhythm), and Lucky Sun (Almutawakel x Eidercrown).

New Zealand Bloodstock sale graduates, Blue Angel (My Halo x Showtime Canterbury), Robbins (Istidaad x Sapphire Queen) and Grant's Success (Spinning World x Lady Guest), all showed ability by winning three of the races on Sunday afternoon at Kranji.
