Successful Weekend in Asia for RTR

Winners for New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs flowed in Asia over the weekend with three victories coming at three separate meetings in Singapore and Hong Kong.

My Boy Jack (NZ) (inside) wins over 1200m in Singapore on Friday night.

Friday night’s Kranji meeting in Singapore produced an emotional victory for the connections of My Boy Jack (Statue of Liberty), a 2012 Ready to Run graduate.

The Shane Baertschiger trained runner is named in honour of former Singapore jockey Jacky Low who tragically lost his life in an accident last December. He was apprentice to Shane Baertschiger’s father Don and a much respected part of their team.

Shane Baertschiger bought the horse by Statue of Liberty at last November’s Ready to Run Sale and scored an impressive win by 1.5 lengths, recording his first victory at his third start in a S$65,000 1200m maiden event on the turf track.

Sunday night in Hong Kong saw the promising Access Years (Stratum) claim his second victory from three career starts with a scintillating display over 1000m, winning in a speedy 57.27 seconds for trainer John Size.

The 2011 Ready to Run graduate won his debut start last season over 1200m in a time of 1.09.00 minutes before running fourth on slower ground and was then turned out for a spell.

The son of Stratum is a graduate of Lyndhurst Farm who are enjoying a stellar run with their Ready to Run graduates of late with Savvy Nature (NZ) (Savabeel), Super Ninetyseven (Show a Heart) and Atlante (Fastnet Rock) all victorious in stakes races last weekend for the Cambridge consignors.

In Singapore on Sunday night, Ready to Run graduate Warrior (NZ) (O’Reilly) saluted over 1600m for ex-pat New Zealand trainer Laurie Laxon continuing the hot run for the Sale.
