Super Easy Still Undefeated in Singapore
2 April 2012
Singapore's superstar three-year-old Super Easy (NZ) maintained his unbeaten record in Singapore on Friday night with a comfortable victory in the Sgp-3 3YO Sprint (1200m) - the first leg of the Singapore Three-Year-Old Challenge.
Ridden by champion jockey Joao Moriera, Super Easy (Darci Brahma x Parfore) settled in fourth place before unleashing his customary turn of foot in the straight and racing away to win by one-and-a-quarter-lengths.
The ease of the performance led Moriera to pay the ultimate compliment to the Michael Freedman trained colt after the race.
"If he's not the best horse that I have ridden then I'm sure by the time he has finished he will be," said Moreira.
"I've won Derby races and Cup races on some very good horses in other countries but this horse is something special. Right from day one he has given me that special feel and riding him in his races is such a pleasure.
"He puts himself in such a nice position and travels so well in his races and today he showed me that he will handle more ground without any worry."

The three-year-old also ran second to NZ Champion 2YO Anabandana (Anabaa) in the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes, and fourth in New Zealand's richest race - the $1 million Karaka Million - during his two-year-old career in New Zealand.
Super Easy has been set for the Singapore Three-Year-Old Challenge and is likely to contest the final two legs of the Series, the Sgp-2 3YO Classic (1400m) on April 22 and the Sgp-1 Singapore Guineas (1600m) on May 18.
Bred by M J Ryan, Super Easy was offered by Esker Lodge at New Zealand Bloodstock's 2010 Karaka Premier Sale where he was purchased by Blue Sky Thoroughbreds for $140,000. Raced by the Joy N Happiness Stable, Super Easy has now taken his stakes earnings to just shy of $700,000.
His sire Darci Brahma, who also sired the Group 3 Manawatu Classic winner Malandrino on Saturday, is currently in third place on Singapore's sires' table by earnings with $321,286.
Now the sire of four stakes winners, Darci Brahma saw his daughter Artistic win the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks two weeks ago and he heads New Zealand's Sires' Premiership by 3YO winners with 17, three clear of O'Reilly on 14.
