Testa Secret Takes Castletown
7 June 2011
Trainer Kevin Gray looks to have a smart filly on his hands with Testa Secret now two from two after winning yesterday's Listed Castletown Stakes at Foxton.
Well ridden by Lisa Allpress, Testa Secret (Testa Rossa x Acacian Secret) was kept a little better than mid-field before the two-year-old was brought wide on the turn. Looking to be held at the 200 metres, the daughter of Testa Rossa produced a smart turn-of-foot, and in a well timed run from Allpress, ran down race leader Elusive Red (Elusive City) to record a strong three-quarters-of-a-length victory.
Allpress has ridden Testa Secret in both her starts, her debut win coming in the Manawatu on April 8. Both of her wins have been on heavy footing but her trainer Kevin Gray is confident that the filly will be just as competitive on good ground. The daughter of Testa Rossa will now head to the spelling paddock before returning for the spring classics.
Testa Secret was offered by Hallmark Stud at the 2010 Karaka Premier Sale.
