The Informant Now Online
4 November 2011
Gus Wigley, General Manager of the New Zealand racing newspaper and form guide The Informant, has announced that the paper has gone digital and can now be viewed online.
"It's been something our readers have been calling for, and now we're delivering!" declared Wigley.
'The Informant On-line', is being billed as "a comprehensive racing and breeding website that offers readers a free daily news service, an in-depth punting service run by respected form analyst Garry Cossey, and of course, the full content from each week's issue of The Informant newspaper available by subscription."
In addition to selections, Garry will also be running a 'late mail' service on the website, which will give up to the minute information on raceday for subscribers.
Trackwork summaries, raceday trainer comments and Jockey Challenge previews will all be part of the subscriber punting service available from just $4.50 per week, or from $2.00 per week for current subscribers to the newspaper. The service will be free over the next week.
Wigley says the web design has been done with the reader in mind.
"The overall design of the website is very simple and easy to navigate, something we thought was important with our broad range of readers.
"The website has been designed using Responsive Design, meaning the website will rescale to whatever screen size you are viewing it on, whether it's a desktop computer, iPad or Smartphone. The way in which the website scales down to fit any smart phone is something we're particularly proud of, no apps need to be downloaded, just bring up the website on the internet on your phone and save the site to your homepage - the website recognises the screen size of your phone and scales automatically."
