Unrivalled NZB Ready to Run Sale Launches 2026 Catalogue
31 August 2026
The catalogue for the world’s leading two-year-old sale is now online, with NZB’s 2026 Ready to Run Sale set to take place at Karaka on 18 and 19 November.
Peerless by every measure, NZB’s Ready to Run Sale graduates have won 33 Group One races and 115 stakes races in the last five seasons. Last season alone, graduates of the Sale won 26 black-type races, while graduates of both Australian 2YO sales combined claimed only 12 in the same period.
Hong Kong Derby victor Invincible Ibis (Hellbent), plus Group One stars Ceolwulf (NZ) (Tavistock), Mr Brightside (NZ) (Bullbars), Gringotts (NZ) (Per Incanto), Lucky Sweynesse (NZ) (Sweynesse), Golden Sixty (Medaglia d’Oro), Antino (NZ) (Redwood), Feroce (NZ) (Super Seth), War Machine (NZ) (Harry Angel) and Warmonger (NZ) (War Decree) headline a remarkable list of recent graduates from this Sale.
Combining both quality and quantity, an elite catalogue of 460 two-year-olds will go through the Karaka sale ring on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November. Selected and prepared by 36 of New Zealand’s expert horsemen and women, they possess the pedigrees, physiques and education that is synonymous with Ready to Run Sale success.
With 119 sires represented, it is one of the most diverse catalogues assembled for the Ready the Run Sale. Heavyweights of the stallion ranks feature, including Proisir, Savabeel, Per Incanto, Shamexpress, Super Seth, Wrote, Satono Aladdin, Ocean Park, Sweynesse, Sword of State, The Autumn Sun, Street Boss, Hellbent, Written Tycoon, Toronado, Capitalist, So You Think, Russian Revolution, Frankel, Too Darn Hot and Home Affairs, alongside a host of exciting emerging and first season sires.
“If buyers are looking for proven performance, this is the one sale they need to attend,” commented NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook.
“The results year in and year out show the phenomenal quality of horse that is brought to this Sale and educated to an incredible standard by our preparers.
“No other sale of this type comes close. We've had 33 Group One wins in the last five seasons compared to just two for the Australian sales. To have a Hong Kong Derby winner and an honour roll featuring Group One sprinting stars to Classic winners does all the talking for us.
“We look forward to another outstanding edition of this Sale and welcoming our buyers back to Karaka.”
The 2026 edition of the Ready to Run Sale will take place at the Karaka Sales Centre from 11am (NZT) on 18 & 19 November, with Breeze Ups to be held across two consecutive days on one turf track at Te Rapa Racecourse on 12 & 13 October.
23 of the two-year-olds in the Ready to Run Sale catalogue are eligible for the lucrative Karaka Millions Series, while any horse purchased at this Sale can compete in New Zealand’s only slot race, the rich $4.5m NZB Kiwi (1500m) for three-year-olds.
Online bidding is available for all prospective purchasers via bidonline.nzb.co.nz, plus an extensive online catalogue at nzb.co.nz that hosts pedigrees, parade videos and photos, breeze-up clips, updates, and important information to assist your buying decisions.
