Westbury Stud Yearling Clips Now Online

This week will see the release of video clips from a number of stud farms with yearlings entered for the 2011 National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka.

Westbury Stud will be the first to have their yearling clips posted online with 21 yearlings filmed earlier this week with 13 in the Karaka Premier Sale and eight in the Karaka Select Sale.

Westbury Stud has had a great start to the 2010-2011 season with its resident sire Captain Rio (Pivotal x Beloved Visitor, by Miswaki) siring the highly talented filly Brazilian Pulse, winner of the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes and the Group 1 VRC Oaks. Captain Rio stands alongside six other sires on the Westbury roster: Cecconi*, Faltaat, Librettist*, Postponed, Red Giant and Swiss Ace (* both these sires will be represented by their first crops at Karaka).

� Westbury's 2011 draft features a host of well-related youngsters including: Lot 143, the Al Maher half-brother to outstanding Hong Kong performer Elegant Fashion (Danewin).

� Lot 345, the colt by Exceed and Excel from the four-time Group 1 winning racemare Grand Archway (Archway).

� Lot 426, the filly by Zabeel from Mantles Princess, the dam of the HK-1 Hong Kong Derby winner Super Satin (Danehill Dancer).

� Lot 458, the full sister to Group 1 winning Il Quello Veloce, the Joint Top Filly on the NZ 3YO Free Handicap 2008/9.

� Lot 473, the half-brother by Captain Rio to Group 1 STC The BMW winner Littorio (Bellotto).

Other vendors to have video clips of their yearlings posted online are Poseidon Bloodstock with their Karaka Premier Sale entry Lot 393, the colt by Pentire from Lady Centaine, and their Karaka Select Sale entry, Lot 726, the Elusive City colt from Big Hope.

Karaka Festival Sale vendor A. J. & C. J. Maguire have also had their lots filmed and are now online.  The draft consists of three yearlings, Lot 1337, the filly by Handsome Ransom, Lot 1478, the colt by Perfectly Ready, and Lot 1607, the colt by first season sire Patapan.
