Encosta de Lago Trial Winner at NZB May Sale
23 April 2010
Australia's leading sire Encosta de Lago will be represented by a promising two-year-old trial winner on the last day (5 May) of the National Weanling, Broodmare and Mixed Bloodstock Sale at Karaka.
At Lot 844, he will be offered unreserved through Bill Gleeson's Wellfield Lodge draft.

The youngster showed plenty of ability trialling at Otaki, easily lengthening to circumnavigate the field in the early stages and lead throughout. In the hands of Robbie Hannam he remained unchallenged over the 1000 metres to win by two lengths. Click here to view the trial (heat four).
The well-muscled chestnut colt stands at 15.3hh and is out of the stakes-placed Bluebird mare Lake Alexandrina - a half-sister to Golden Slipper winner and successful sire Marauding (Sir Tristram). The mare's record at stud is also impressive with 100% winners to date from five to the track.
Encosta de Lago will be well represented at Randwick tomorrow with last week's Doncaster runner-up, Road to Rock, backing up in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m). Fellow progeny of the Coolmore Stud sire, Miss Marielle and Palacio De Cristal will also take the line in the Queen Elizabeth while he has Strawberry Field and Glowlamp in the Emancipation Stakes and Chula Vista, Fashion, Sasa, Bombay, Iron Lace, in the Champagne Stakes for juveniles.
