Fantastic Line-Up For $100,000 New Zealand Bloodstock 3yo Classique
24 March 2004
The 15 starters boast a wealth of form between them, with a strong line-up from across the country. The South Island is represented by the very consistent performer, Coup Timaru (Volksraad x Mandate), and Bruce & Stephen Marsh are flying the flag for the Central Districts with Mighty Towreign (Towkay x Raining) a gelding with every chance to add to Towkay's current list of successful performers.
Windsor Park Stud's sires are well represented with Eftee One (Volksraad x Bashful Lady), the Mike Moroney and Andrew Scott trained Pride of the Class (Volksraad x Grosvenor's Pride) and the Danske filly Danette (Danske x Amynette) all looking to give a good account of themselves.
Each starter will need to be on their best form as Mount Street's conqueror Captain Butler (Soviet Star x Fiddle De De), the very durable son of Pentire Waitoki Dream (Pentire x Calm Lover) and proven weight for age Ubiquitous (Tale Of The Cat x Zahra) have every chance of stealing the show. However, the progressive types like the Katrina Alexander trained Identity (Daggers Drawn x Hear's Hoping) with three wins from her last four starts, and the Margaret Falconer trained Salsa (O'Reilly x Ungaro), also have to be respected.
