Half-brother to Demanding Miss at Karaka

10 January 2010

A Mossman half-brother to yesterday's fast finishing BMW Magic Millions Classic (1200m) place-getter Demanding Miss will highlight the draft of Matamata-based JK Farm at the Karaka 2010 Select Sale.

Barry Baldwin's Demanding Miss (Commands x Agony, by Royal Academy) flew from the clouds yesterday in the $2,000,000 feature to nab third behind runaway leader and victor Military Rose (General Nediym).

Mossman

Mossman, the sire of Karaka Million bound Hoofit and a yearling half-brother to Demanding Miss set to sell at Karaka 2010

Demanding Miss is the first foal of three time winning Royal Academy mare Agony, herself a half-sister to Angst (Kala Dancer) who, along with Samantha Miss, are the only two fillies in history to take out all four legs ofSydney's Princess Series - the Group 1 AJC Flight Stakes, Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes, Group 2 Furious Stakes, and the Group 3 Silver Shadow - before unfortunately passing the same year under anaesthesia.

The second foal of Agony is strapping bay colt by Mossman who, like is older sister, should be ideal for two-year-old racing and, as a Karaka graduate, the $1,000,000 2011 Karaka Million.

JK Farm's John Hogan confirms the colt is a standout.

"He is a great cut of a colt who just keeps improving for us. He has got the size, the scope, and the masculinity, plus he has got the athleticism and attitude to go with it. He is one of the real highlights in our draft."

Catalogued at Lot 830 the bay colt is set to sell just after 3pm at Karaka on Thursday the 4th of February.

In the JK Farm Select draft Hogan also earmarks Lot 972, a colt by Snippetson, as a highlight.

"He is smashing colt who will get up and run for somebody", Hogan commented.

"He has got plenty of power behind the saddle and has all the right proportions".

The chestnut Snippetson coltis out of an End Sweep mare who in turn is out of a Sadler's Wells half-sister to four-time European Group 1 winner Bigstone (Last Tycoon).
