National Broodmare Sale Moves to May in 2008
22 August 2007
New Zealand Bloodstock has today announced thatits annualNational Broodmare & Mixed BloodstockSale will next year move fromJulyto join the National Weanling Sale in May.
The National Broodmare Sale was moved to July last year, takingadvantage of New Zealand's newly introduced tax changes affecting the depreciation regime for broodmares. That was repeated again this year but Marketing Manager Petrea Vela confirmed thatfollowing this year's Sale results the decision has been made to put the Sales back together in 2008.
"The standalone Weanling Sale in May has shown enormous promise in just two years and we have confidence that this will take a firm foothold in the New Zealand sales market. With this year's Broodmare Sale not faring quite as well inits wet, wintry timeslot, both vendors and buyers can now benefit from having a bumper selection on offer earlier in the year."
This will result in two other changes toNZB's forthcoming salesschedule: there will be no Autumn Mixed Bloodstock Sale in April, but added to the calendar will be the Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale in August.
New Zealand Bloodstock's2007-2008 Sales Calendar will therefore be as follows:
