New Zealand Bloodstock Graduates Prepare for Stoneybridge

Talented New Zealand Bloodstock graduate Balmuse (Lord Ballina x Musing) picked up another Group win at the weekend as he prepares to face fellow graduate Starcraft (Soviet Star x Flying Floozie) in the $120,000 Group 2 Stoney Bridge Stakes (1600m) at Hastings on Saturday.

Balmuse proved too good in the $60,000 Group 3 Merial Metric Mile (1600m) at Awapuni on Saturday, racking up his ninth win from only fourteen starts. Jim Wallace's Ardsley Stud sold the homebred at the 2001 Select Festival Sale where he was purchased by Wanganui breeder, Dan O'Leary, for $30,000.

Starcraft, who was sold by Waikato Stud at the 2002 Premier Sale for $80,000, will start hot favourite in this pre-cursor to the much-awaited Kelt Capital Stakes the following weekend.

Other New Zealand Bloodstock graduates Sedecrem, Dowry, Honor Babe, Woburn and Hustler will all be looking for their chance to take on the impressive out-of-towner this Saturday.
