NZB Southern Bonus Race Entries Close Monday

Entries for New Zealand Bloodstock’s $40,000 Southern Bonus Race - an incentive race for all two-year-olds offered at the 2012 South Island Sale – close on Monday 10 September at 5pm.

The 2013 Southern Bonus Race offers a $40,000 cash bonus, on top of any prize money won, to the first eligible graduate across the line in an open 1400 metre three-year-old race which will be held at Christchurch’s Riccarton Park on 13 November 2013. Importantly, the horse doesn’t have to win the Southern Bonus Race to collect the bonus, it only has to be the first eligible horse past the post.

Entries for the 2013 Southern Bonus Race are just NZ$250 + GST per two-year-old, and horses must be signed up before Monday’s 5pm deadline. As an added advantage, SBR eligible horses get preference in field selection.

The Southern Bonus Race is also supported by two feature lead-up races, the New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance Southern Bonus Preludes, which will both offer $5,000 cash bonuses on top of any race winnings.

The first New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance Southern Bonus Prelude for 2012 is a 1200 metre race next week – Friday 14 September – at Riccarton Park. The second Prelude will be a 1400 metre race at Riccarton Park on Sunday 6 October 2012.
