Online remote access is best used on an up-to-date Windows based computer with a fast Internet connection.
Technical Information about Remote Viewing
We recommend Internet Explorer as the best browser on a PC (or Mac running Bootcamp/Windows) and using the "DICOM Images" for diagnostic quality images. The "JPEG Images" option works well over slower connections however it is not recommended for a final diagnosis as the quality is not high enough.
The "DICOM Images" option will only appear on computers that support Microsoft .NET ClickOnce install technology. If you are using a Mac computer and require that option please use BootCamp and run Windows for viewing X-Rays to get the full options available.
Internet connection with a download speed of 1.5mbit/s or higher is recommended to view the DICOM Images are they are quite large being full diagnostic quality images with only completely lossless compression used.
If "JPEG Images" is selected extra controls are available if you have Microsoft Silverlight Installed. The "JPEG Images" option does work without Silverlight however the experience is better if you have it installed and your computer/device supports Silverlight. (Most Modern Intel based Mac computers support Silverlight)
HINT: When viewing DICOM online you can request more than one study at a time. By searching again you can download your next study or studies. This can be useful if you have a slow connection or if you have 10 studies to view. You can start the download of all 10 and come back to your computer later. If the window closes open that Lot again. It will not re-download unless that study has been resubmitted and changed.
