Racing across the Tasman at Kalgoorlie saw further black-type success for Karaka graduates with the Mark Reed trained Kincaple winning the Listed Kalgoorlie Cup (2300m).

In an impressive career, Kincaple (NZ) (Pentire x Kincaple Lass) has taken six wins and nine placings from his 22-start career with Saturday's victory his first at stakes level after backing up from last weekend where he ran a good second in the Listed Boulder Cup on the same course.

A model of consistency, Kincaple has finished no further back than second this preparation, with his six starts bringing four wins, with his career earnings now just shy of A$300,000.

Kincaple is the 34th individual stakes winner for his sire Pentire and was bred by J R Doig. He was a $150,000 purchase by Robert Roulston Bloodstock from Rich Hill Stud at the 2007 Karaka Premier Sale.

Mr Tipsy (NZ) (Montjeu x Fairy Tipsy) made it a stakes winning double for Murray & Bjorn Baker, winning the Listed Westbury Stud Karaka Classic (1600m) at Counties on Sunday, while Lion Tamer secured the Group 1 Underwood Stakes for Murray in Melbourne.

Group 1 placed in the Auckland and Sydney Cups over 3200 metres, yesterday's victory was Mr Tipsy's second at black-type level after winning the Listed Marton Cup (2200m) in January this year. The seven-year-old looks in good form as he heads for the Group 3 New Zealand Cup (3200m) at Riccarton on November 12.

A winner of nine of his 29 starts and over $500,000, Mr Tipsy was bred and sold by Windsor Park Stud at the 2006 Karaka Premier Sale where he was purchased by Colin Jillings for $41,000.

Running into third position in the Karaka Classic was the Shaun Clotworthy trained Toughasim (Lord of Warriors) in his black type debut. In a smart career, he has won five of his 12 starts and yesterday's placing brought his stakes to just shy of $50,000.
