Racing in Victoria on Saturday produced a pleasing result for New Zealand Bloodstock's National Weanling, Broodmare and Mixed Bloodstock Sale currently underway at Karaka.
Graeme Rogerson trained, Intermoo (Danske x Garden Walk), won the $60,000 Rotary International Handicap Double (1500m), beating Mushroom (Commands x Parody) and Our Apache (Humam x Pine Lass). Intermoo was sold at the 2002 Premier Yearling Sale, and his unraced broodmare half sister, Stylish Walk (Desert Style x Garden Walk), is to be offered at Lot 470 on Tuesday. Intermoo was from the Whakanui Stud draft and sold to Graeme Rogerson for $47,500.
New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Sale Graduates continued to display their talent while racing in Hong Kong over the weekend. Griffins, Ocean Tranquil (Align x Crystal Jet) and Dansing Fun (Danasinga x Kentucky Lass) crossed the line in first and second places in the Cricket Star Plate (1000m). Dansing Fun was sold for $100,000 from the Little Avondale draft at the 2004 Premier Sale.
2002 Premier graduate, Taiji Spirit (Soviet Star x Thelma's Decision) won the Saracens Hanidcap (1400m). From the Trelawney Stud draft, the bay colt sold for $52,500.
In the Class 4 Tartars Handicap (1400m), Cambridge Stud bred, Champ Dragon (Maroof x Zonal), put � of a length between himself and second place-getter, Quick News (Double Bed x In And Out). Champ Dragon was sold at the 2001 Premier Sale for $280,000.
