Second Stakes Win for St Peter's Gift (NZ)

Racing in Macau on Saturday night saw the game New Zealand bred galloper St Peter's Gift notch up his second stakes win for the season in the Listed Macau Director's Cup (1500m).

The four-year-old has been racing in good form over the season winning the Listed Macau Derby Trial over 1500 metres before running fourth in the Derby, and second in the Listed Macau Gold Cup at his last start.
New Zealand bred horses are having a strong season in Macau with four individual black-type winners taking six black-type races, making New Zealand one of the leading countries for stakes success in Macau this season.
Feature wins by New Zealand bred horses in Macau this season include the Listed Winter Trophy winner Easy Choice (NZ), the Listed Macau Guineas Prelude and Spring Trophy winner Kaaptan (NZ) who won the Group 1 Diamond Stakes in New Zealand, and the Listed Macau Guineas and Macau Derby winner Imabayboy (NZ).
St Peter's Gift was purchased by New Zealand Bloodstock as Agent from Leafland Stud at the 2008 South Island Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Mixed Bloodstock for $30,000. He was then offered at the 2008 Ready to Run Sale where he was purchased by New Zealand Bloodstock as Agent from Anzac Lodge for $100,000.
New Zealand Bloodstock's South Island Sale of Two-Year-Olds & Mixed Bloodstock will be held at Canterbury Agricultural Park, Christchurch on 12 August. Catalogues for the Sale will be available from the first week of July.
